New Evidence of Identity and Proof of Garaged Address Requirements
The Queensland Government has adopted new national standards for Evidence of Identity (EOI).
This means that from April 19th, changes to the forms of acceptable evidence of identity and proof of garage address requirements came into effect. This not only affects individuals but organisations as well. The new EOI requirements also reiterate that vehicles garaged in Queensland must be registered in Queensland.
The changes will specifically affect Qld dealers registering or transferring vehicles into the clients' name, where the client requires a CRN to be created or where the customer requires a garage address to be attached to the vehicle's registration record. The changes affect all Qld dealers regardless of whether they transact electronically (via DAIS) or take transactions to a Customer Service Centre for processing.
